Eddie Wayne Kingsley, age 76, of Elgin, Kansas passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at his home in Elgin.

Eddie was born on September 30, 1943 in Rural Butler County, Kansas to Lewis L. Kingsley and Jessie Irene (Spivey) Kingsley.  He attended Leon-Bluestem High School.

On November 9, 1963 he married Ilene Slaughter in Sedan, Kansas. They made their home in Chautauqua county until moving to Florida in the early 1970’s.

Eddie worked as a farmer and a landscaper.  He worked for many years as a landscaper in Florida before they moved back to Elgin in 1994.

Eddie loved fishing, tinkering with lawnmowers and motors, woodworking and building just about anything.  He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Florida.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ilene Kingsley of the home in Elgin; one daughter, Teresa Kingsley of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania; one son, Alan Kingsley of Parsons, Kansas; three brothers, Leonard Kingsley of El Dorado, Kansas, Harry Kingsley of Coffeyville, Kansas and Mike Kingsley of Arkansas City, Kansas; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and many other family members.

Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date at the Elgin Cemetery in Elgin, Kansas.
