Sedan – Ramona L. Jarboe Catron, age 71, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan.

She was born on June 21, 1948 in Winfield, Kansas to Raymond Cox and Patricia (Glass) Cox. She attended school and graduated from Dexter High School.

She married Glenn Albert Jarboe on May 5th, 1967. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1973.

On February 10, 1979 she married Eldon Catron in Cedar Vale, Kansas.  Ramona was a cook most of her life.  She worked at the People’s Place, Cedar Vale Hospital, Sale Barn, and she worked at USD #285 Cedar Vale Schools as a cook from August 1, 1990 until her retirement on February 28, 2011.  She and Eldon also owned the liquor store in Cedar Vale in the mid 80’s.  She was preceded in death by her husband Eldon on March 26, 2015.

Ramona enjoyed her flower garden, canning, yard work, camping at the lake, watching the hummingbirds, showing her grandchildren how to cook and most importantly loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by three children; Heath Jarboe and wife Josie of Cedar Vale, Kansas; Rachelle Marlar and husband Tony of Cedar Vale, Kansas; Chad Catron of Cedar Vale, Kansas and two stepchildren; Timothy Catron and wife Melinda of Dewey, Oklahoma, and Kristina Snider of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Debra Blakesley of Peru, Kansas and Pamela Bain of Newkirk, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Terry Killingsworth.

Church services will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale, Kansas with Pastor Norman Reeves officiating.  Burial will follow at the Cedar Vale Cemetery in Cedar Vale, Kansas.

Family and friends may call on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale.

The family has suggested memorials to the Peoples Place and may be left in care of the Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
